05:27 pm - My bags aren't packed, and I'm not quite ready to go...
but, my passport came back with a handy-dandy visa pasted in it. I'll be off to Dalian, China for six months of teaching English. I fly out the 26th of this month, start on September 1 and come home some time in March after a bit of traveling around the country.
I'll have a regular internet connection and AIM and Skype so keeping in touch won't be too hard. Other than that, if you wanna visit, come on!

09:57 am - Who just got a job with out an interview....
This guy! FSU PC called me on Friday because almost all of their communications dept. left. Ergo, they needed someone quick. Now I'm a salaried employee with bennies until they find a permanent fill after October. Funny enough..the position I'm filling was the same one that I did not even get an interview for about a year ago. Anyhoo...

| Dwight Eisenhower 260 |
| You have the most in common with Dwight Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States. Born in Denison, Texas, David Dwight Eisenhower would later decide to go by his middle name. His family moved to Kansas in 1892, and after graduating high school Eisenhower worked for 2 years at Belle's Spring Creamery before enrolling at West Point. Eisenhower was a good football player, but his playing days came to an end at West Point when he injured his knee tackling the legendary Jim Thorpe during a game. A brilliant military career included serving in the tank corp during World War I. When elected president in 1952, Eisenhower had not held any other political office. |

Aerosmith & Lenny Kravitz - Philips Arena - Atlanta, GA
Unbelievable show...
Desi grabbed Lenny Kravitz as he walked by...
Lenny Kravitz was awesome...
Aerosmith has undeniably held up its reputation as one of the best live shows ever...
Bravo for La Quinta having wireless internet in the hotel...
Hopefully pics to come (probably really crappy however because cell phones just don't cut it as cameras)....
More to come on the show, tomorrow some time...
We're tired and going to bed.

01:22 pm - Post
Christmas and New Year's are over and everyone has returned to their respective homes. Absolute blast. Almost finished cleaning everything from the visit... (Porter clean that is).
Now it's back to the dog-eat-dog federal job hunt. Found a few jobs today that are in my field. One closes today, and a few close tomorrow which means that I must scramble to update my resume. Ugh!
Talked to an old fraterny brother yesterday and caught up on quite a bit. I've not talked to him in well over a year, so it was nice to catch him. Hopefully I can sneak a trip down to Gainesville sometime soon to visit.
Next big thing on my agenda is Aerosmith/Lenny Kravitz this Sunday in Atlanta. Not gonna lie... this concert is going to be awesome...
Anyhow...hope everyone's well.

01:10 am - Destin and Producers
Desi and I went shopping in Destin today to replace the stereo that I got her for Christmas since Nick got her a better one for Christmas as well. We found an awesome leather jacket for her and a few very sexy outfits from Black House White Market. Found myself a pair of black cordouroy pants and two French-cuff shirts from Brooks Brothers. Not a bad run.
Also, we saw the Producers....DAMNED FUNNY.......

Finishing grades now...
Tomorrow, kids are gone at 10:30, meeting until noon or so, and I will be released from the ties that bind...
To add to the recent Mallrats goodness:
One time my cousin Walter got this cat stuck in his ass. True story. He bought it at our local mall, so the whole fiasco wound up on the news. It was embarrassing for my relatives and all. But, the next week, he did it again--difference cat, same results, complete with another trip to the emergency room. So, I run into him a week later in the mall and he's buying another cat. And, I says to him, "Jesus, Walt, what are you doing?! You know you're just going to get this cat stuck in your ass, too." And, he said to me, "Brodie, how the hell else am I supposed to get the gerbil out?"
